FISHING EDGE SEASON 4
To kick off season 4 of the show, Lee is fishing out of Eden on NSW south coast. Instead of doing the usual game fishing off shore trip, Lee puts a day into bottom fishing and ends up with an impressive bag of fish.
There’s a stack of information from rigging, finding the best ground to fish using the sounder through to looking after your catch.
Bathurst Island NT
Lee and his wife, Rachel, fish out of Bathurst Island lodge for the most prized species in that part of the world – barramundi.
Using a variety of lure fishing techniques and some help from local guide Scott Simms, the guys get stuck into some fantastic barramundi.
On his final day of a trip to Weipa in North West Queensland, Lee and his mate (and local guide) Lee Hodgetts, head directly out the front of the harbour at Weipa to see what fish are on offer. With no specific plans, species or techniques in mind the boys end up landing a stack of different species using everything from hard bodied lures to micro jigs.
Sword fish in Victoria would be considered the holy grail for trailer game boat fishermen, and up until early 2016, no sword fish had ever been landed on rod and reel in the state.
On this episode, Lee along with gun trailer boat game fisherman, Richie Abela and close friend, Joel Ryan, head out from the recently built launching facilities at Bastion Point at Mallacoota in an attempt to achieve a long held goal – to land a Vic sword fish on film.
Coffs Harbour NSW
Lee heads to Coffs Harbour on the north coast of NSW this week and while snapper are the target, this part of the world has loads of other species on offer. It only takes a bit of berley and some carefully rigged baits to get the action happening. This show has heaps of handy tips so tune in and check it out!
Lake Bullen Merri VIC
Lee catches up with long time mate and gun angler Scott Gray in the Western District of Victoria at Lake Bullen Merri. Although small in size the lake is extremely deep and is known for producing oversized trout but the lake also gets stocked with Chinook Salmon
In this episode the boys target large Chinook Salmon by trolling lures on downriggers. This episode is full of action and highlights how fisheries stocking can produce a great fishery.
Port Phillip Bay VIC
Lee meets up with fishing guide Aaron Habgood at the bottom end of Port Phillip Bay in Victoria. While the water is dirty from recent rain, the boys show that with persistence the local whiting are well and truly there. It is a show well worth seeing, not only for some great fishing action but because Aaron’s life story will leave you speechless.
Lakes Entrance VIC
Lakes Entrance is a location that just keeps producing amazing fishing, from big snapper offshore to prawns in the estuary, this place has it all! Over the past few season it has also had some great runs of striped marlin out around the offshore oil and gas rigs. With this in mind Lee grabs a few mates and heads out in search of a Victorian Marlin.
Lee catches up with his good mate Scott Bradley in Bermagui. The boys head off to Wallaga Lake to wade the sand flats casting small lures for bream and flathead. No boat needed for this episode.
The team head to one of the many rivers in Weipa to fish with live bait with plenty of success. You do not want to fall into the water in this part of the world!
Coffs Harbour NSW
Lee heads out fishing with not one bit of bait in the boat and a plan to fish some of the endless reef systems of Coffs Harbour. Light spin tackle and a bunch of soft plastics and metal jigs are used to lure snapper and a variety of species for a fun fishing session.
Fraser Island QLD Part 1
Lee heads to Hervey bay to meet up with a few good mates before they head off on journey up to the top of Fraser Island for a crazy couple of days of camping on the beach and endless fishing opportunities in one of Australia’s most iconic locations, and while the islands scenery and the weather is great its the fish and sealife that you won’t want to miss.
Fraser Island QLD Part 2
This episode is the second installment of the Fraser Island fishing journey where the boys find themselves beginning the day in a spectacular location, before heading out and finding themselves being stretched by a whole pile of big hard fighting fish that call this area home.
Lee heads to the South Coast with his good mate Lee McDuffie where the boys get into some great action on striped marlin. While the fishing is great, the accommodation is well worth checking out!

On this episode Chris Beldon from Rapala head office flies in from Helsinki, Finland to thaw out and brings with him a big bag of Rapala lures to test out. Lee an Chris put them to good use and find themselves some good Aussie big barramundi.
